Located at the most eastern foot of the Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs, has an elevation of slightly over 6,000 feet and is the second largest city in Colorado.

This well known family friendly city is a favorite among tourists and visitors from all over the world and is also known for its abundance of family oriented activities, fun, and adventure which includes:

• Exploring zoos

• Riding on mountain bike trails

• Cooling off at spectacular water parks

• Enjoying adventurous wild west family fun, and

• Exploring the many iconic red-sandstone formations

You can also take in spectacular mountain views at many of the state’s favorite tourist destinations such as Garden of the Gods Park, and much more.

Colorado Springs is also located near beautiful glacier-carved Pikes Peak, just one of Colorado’s many towering Mountain Peaks which has an elevation of over 14,100 feet.

While at Pikes Peak, visitors can enjoy the many area hiking and biking trails, ride the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, enjoy fishing in one of the three mountain lakes found in the area, enjoy a family meal at one of the many picnic areas at or near Pike’s Peak, and much more.

There are also many other fun and exciting activities for visitors who are a bit more daring and adventurous, such as enjoying the heights and taking in the breath-taking mountain views while hot air ballooning, sky diving, para gliding, mountain climbing, zip lining, and much more.

For those who love eye catching landscape and scenery, there are many beautiful streams, rivers, lakes and waterfalls to enjoy all throughout the Colorado Springs area.

The Peak area also has plenty of wildlife you can view at various times during the day such as:

• Deer

• Yellow-bellied Marmot

• Mountain Lions, many of which you may see at various altitudes during your travels at the Peak.

Along with the area’s amazing wildlife viewing, you can also enjoy Pike’s Peak Seven Falls hiking, local dining, plenty of souvenirs and shopping, many different exhibits on display, as well as try your hand at gold panning, which are all part of the exciting adventure you will be sure to enjoy while visiting the Seven Falls area.
